Thanksgiving was four days ago and I am still eating leftovers, but this isn't a bad thing at all! Two drawings from the day:
I had about five minutes to quickly sketch our turkey before my dad started cutting into it. Then I got yelled at for being in the way, but its just as well, any longer and I probably would have killed the drawing.
I think this really sums up the whole evening: my dad in a food coma, my obese cat on his stomach.

SO. I've definitely been having a much more inspiring semester this time around. I can't really complain about Stony Brook (actually I very much can but who wants to read that?), but I think my experiences outside of school have been much more fruitful. I have been sketching a lot more lately, though not as much as I should. Its never enough. More than last year, though. Been trying to loosen up. You really CAN learn from your mistakes! Reading every day. Trying to observe and learn new things every day. I am now a list maker! I live for lists, just to be able to cross things off! This blog needs to be revamped entirely. Maybe include some more writing, pictures, etc. I look at old drawings and ideas and its like they are not even from the same person, weird. I miss the imagination I used to have!

It's Been A While
quick drawing of Mike Gluck at the beach
This is the first moleskine I have started since last summer! I wish I had kept up drawing, but hopefully I can get into the swing of things again. I'm now going back to the drawing studio, which was much needed. Taking oil painting classes where we work on something for five 3 hour sessions at a time made me forget how to sketch quickly!
